Pixiwoo Makeup Course – Day Two – Bridal Makeup – November 2014

So this was the day I was most looking forward to on the course, Bridal Makeup!

We started the morning watching Sam do a beautiful bridal makeup on Stacey while Nic talked us through the look in detail. Sam used Mac Face and Body to create a beautiful base with a very subtle contour, she then created a classic bridal eye using the Naked 2 basic palette and finished it off with some individual lashes to complete the Bridal look. Sam also introduced us to Mac reflex glitter which added a beautiful shimmer to eye makeup! I think this was my favourite product discovery of the week!

Stacey, Nic and Sam all talked us through the business side of the being a Bridal makeup artist such as the importance of having a bridal contract and insurance. They talked us through how to conduct a bridal trial, ensuring that we asked the right questions and testing the products on the bride before her big day.
After lunch, it was our turn to be let loose in the makeup studio and create our own bridal looks. I was paired with the beautiful Victoria and I did a very subtle bridal look on her enhancing her look with individual lashes.

It was lovely to hear the ladies talk about their own experiences, both good and bad, of working with Brides on their special day. They gave us lots of advice and made us think about just how important the role of a Bridal MUA is on the wedding day. Listening to their stories just confirmed to me that Bridal was definitely the direction I wanted to take my business. Making a bride feel and look her best on her special day is such a rewarding job and a great privilege.
